Disney Ships: Disney Magic and Disney Wonder
Disney Cruise Line offers two ships, each one with its unique features and activities, but both great in terms of fun and experience; they are the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder. What is great about these ships is that since the beginning they both were conceived as family cruises with the goal to satisfy both parents and children. Let’s look in detail at each one of them:
Disney Magic
This is the first and original cruise ship. It was built in the year 1998, and the construction was in charge of Italian shipbuilder company Fincanteri (a leading shipbuilding company with over 7000 ships worldwide). The Disney Magic has a capacity of 2,400 passengers plus 935 on the crew.
Its itinerary includes: Castaway Cay (A Bahamas island owned by Disney), St. Marteen, St. Thomas, Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. During 2005 this Disney Magic ship received improvements in all areas, including the restaurant, family pool, conference center and spa. Even the Parrot Cay restaurant that changes every evening.
Disney Wonder
The Disney Wonder is the second ship that started operating a year after the Disney Magic, and was also constructed by the same company. It has also been improved (during 2006) and now it features a toddler pool with interactive fountains and splash zones. It also features new aimed-at-kid games, such as a computer simulator. But to not forget parents they have also improved their spa area and the adult’s swimming pool (called Quiet Cove)
The future
In February, 2007 Disney announced that two new ships will enter their line. And that is great news, since the demand on Disney cruise are pretty high. This will allow many more people to join the fun that these Disney cruises bring to the children of all ages.
